Street artist, INDO was born in Sydney in 1982 from migrant Chilean parents. Right from the start he looked at life from a unique perspective. After completing studies in graphic design and illustration he took his inspiration to the streets. With stencils and spray cans in hand, he launched an early reputation with his explosive colours and self-styled in the contemporary movements of street art.
It wasn’t long before INDO was picked up by a talent scout and a commercial collaboration with some major corporations followed. Some of the companies to experience INDO’s art are ING Direct, The Maritime Union of Australia, General Pants, Fuel TV, The Rolling Stones magazine, ANZ Bank and Sony BMG.
Liquitex Australia sponsored INDO as a Brand ambassador and he’s competed in Street Art Competitions winning heats and titles at the infamous, Australian Street Art Battles.
INDO's art has featured in Stationary Products sold in Office works Australia wide under the brand Artvibe, His designs and illustration artwork have appeared on clothing, for brands like General Pants & Bad Boy.
INDO has worked with charities such as Dry July, GoSober ( UK) & Free The Reef, creating eye candy to help promote the brand & contemporary trending merchandise to help raise awareness & attract funds to support the cause.
When asked to describe Street Art, INDO replied:
“Street art is an extreme sport. It’s all about being connected, in the moment ... the most freeing medium in the world. It’s adrenaline pumping, strategic like chess, and most importantly, there’s complete detachment where the art work is here today, gone tomorrow.”
His “one night only” Pop Up solo exhibition entitled “Ghetto to the Meadow” was a sell-out success with all 55 pieces of original street art sold.
INDO takes inspiration from History, culture and iconic artists such as the French- man, Basquiat, Banksy and Andy Warhol.
INDO today is a full time artist working with councils and corporate companies painting Murals, performing live street art events and functions,
painting private commissioned murals for interior designers and exhibiting around Sydney and Melbourne.
INDO is available for private Commissioned work, Murals and private consulting.
